Kent-based pub operator and Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame contacted KCS to supply and install an enlarged new kitchen at The Woolpack, Banstead.
The Woolpack is local community pub with roots dating back to the 18th century. Closed for three months for renovations inside and out, our works involved stripping out their existing kitchen and supplying and installing a new extended kitchen, extraction and cold rooms. All competed on a budget and in time, KCS worked alongside Gram, Hoshizaki, Kitchen Ventilation Systems, Lincat, and Seropa.
KCS were able to strip out The Woolpack’s entire kitchen; taking their equipment back to their warehouse for cleaning and assessment. This enabled the builder to have free reign to carry out the kitchen refurbishment and extension.
Because of KCS’ “keep it local” attitude they were able to tend quickly to any requests for site attendance and keep a watching eye on progress to eliminate any potential problems prior to their installation. They were able to meet with the builder’s sub-contractors and physically mark positions of services as well as issue detailed service drainage.
As with any building project there were delays (mainly due to weather) which pushed the kitchen installation date back closer towards the planned opening date. But because of KCS’ frequent attendances and contact with designers and site teams, issues on site were at a minimum. Shepherd Neame’s kitchen team took over the kitchen as planned with enough time to have a dry run before their official opening.
